You Can Help Make a Difference

Coastal Neighbors is proud to help older adults in Dartmouth and Westport stay in the homes and communities they love.

Aging at home makes sense for more and more people, and our team of energetic and committed volunteers makes it possible by providing help that comes to our members when they need it. Our help takes many forms, including rides to medical appointments and shopping, moving furniture, changing smoke alarm batteries, providing information about area medical resources or perhaps just a friendly visit over a cup of tea. We also offer regular social events, cultural and educational programs, special interest groups and other benefits that help members stay connected and active. Coastal Neighbors also works closely with a number of other senior service organizations to create as many aging support solutions as possible. 

Our volunteers provide more than 100 services every month. The aging population in Dartmouth and Westport continues to grow, and with it there is an increasing need for our services. By supporting Coastal Neighbors, you help us meet this need.

How Your Donation Helps

Your generous donations are also used to supplement membership fees, enabling seniors at all income levels to receive much-needed services and stay socially connected to their communities. Almost half of our service members live below the poverty line.

Membership fees and grants alone do not cover costs. Your gift enables us to continue helping our neighbors remain safe, engaged and living independently in the place of their choice. Donors who contribute $350 or more become Supporting Members and receive all the benefits of that membership, including invitations to social events and educational programs. Supporting Members can also request access to our regular volunteer-provided services for a two-month period. For more information, go to the Membership Page.
